There are number of street foods are available across the country and it will vary depending on the state and region. The street food is available either taste, that is in chill as well as hot. The Falooda is one of the familiar street dishes and many like it. The preparation methods are discussed in this article.
Ingredients required
· Two cups of milk
· 1/2 tsp of takmaria (that is Basil Seeds)
· Handful of Falooda Sev (if you do not find falooda sev then you can use normal sev)
· 3 to 4 tbsp of Rose Syrup (instead you can use rose water)
· Sugar as per your taste
· Two scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
· A pinch of cardamom powder
· One tbsp of Pistachios or Almonds (coarsely ground)
· Two scoops of vanilla ice cream
Preparation direction
It is prepared in two different direction and both are mentioned here, you can pick your preferred type.
(i) Common steps
Initially you need to soak the takmaria in the water for one hour and the seeds will swell up to an extent.
Cook the Falooda or ordinary sev as per the packet instruction. Add some water in a pot and boil it along with the broken sev at least for three minutes then drain the water and keep it aside.
Now boil the milk add the sugar and cardamom powder it.
(ii) Type I
Add the rose syrup and Falooda to the milk, after the milk cool down then add takmaria and refrigerate it for some time.
Then serve it chill in a long pass and vanilla ice cream with grounded nuts
(iii) Type II
Take a glass in which you are going to serve, add some ice cubes and cooked Falooda in the bottom layer, rose syrup and consecutively add milk to it.
Finally add takmaria seeds and crushed buts on the top hence it will give attractive presentation!!
