Generally Bengali dishes will give unique taste and they are very special in their cuisine. The Khichuri is one of the extraordinary dishes that everyone likes. Today I have prepared this Khichuri in home; I was surprised it resulted in good manner and I was successful in my consistency. Hence I share my recipes with you my friends. It is very simple and you too make it very simple.
Ingredients required
· Four medium potatoes, cubed
· 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder
· 1/2 tsp of sugar
· 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder
· 1 1/4 cup of green gram split (roasted)
· 250 gms of cauliflower florets
· 6 cups of water
· Salt as per your taste
· Six green chillies
· 1 1/4 cups of rice
· 2 tsp of cumin powder
· 1/2 cup peas
(i) For Seasoning
· 4 tblsp of Ghee
· Two Bay Leaves
· Three Red Chillies Whole
· Four Green Cardamoms
· Six Cloves
· 2 Cinnamon pieces
Direction to prepare
1. First you need to roast the green gram dal, tear green chillies and cauliflower.
2. Now make a paste of cumin powder, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
3. Wash your rice and drain water.
4. Take enough water in a big vessel in a pot and stir fry rice and dal in it.
5. When rice is half completed
6. Then take sufficient water in big size pot and fry the dal and rice in it.
7. When the rice is half done, now mix masala paste, vegetables and green chillies. Make it simmer until it become cooked.
8. Meanwhile rice and dal will be cooked.
9. Now make a favor heating ghee mix in red chillies, bay leaves, garam masala and fry it for one minute.
10. If you smell the flavor then add it in cooked kichuri
11. Now serve it hot with ghee at its top if preferable.
