West Bengal is located in the eastern part of the country India where their recipes are fine and well flavored. Their recipes will invite the people of different states and even from different countries. The Cabbage Khichdi is a type of Bengali dish which is very simple to do in home and it takes only less time for preparation.
Ingredients required
· One cup of rice
· One cup of finely chopped cabbage
· 1/4 cup of peas
· One onion
· One tomato
· One potato
· Two cloves of garlic
· A Small piece of ginger
· One bay leaf
· Small stick of cinnamon
· One teaspoon of cumin
· Two Clove
· One Cardamom
· Two tablespoon of Salt
· ¼ teaspoon of sugar
· Oil as you need
Preparation methods
1. Firstly you need to peel the skins of ginger, onion, garlic, potatoes and cut it in pieces. As usual cut tomatoes into small pieces.
2. This dish, you can prepare directly in pressure cooker, put some oil and heat it.
3. Add cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaf, cumin and cloves as mention above.
4. When the cumin starts to split up then add some garlic, onion and ginger for only some minute.
5. Now add the potatoes, cabbage, tomato, peas and rice in pressure cooker, stir it for some time.
6. Add three cup of water in cup, slat if you need add little amount of sugar in it and cover the lid.
7. Once you hear the whistles switch off the stove and wait until the pressure lets down.
8. Then take it out, mix well and garnish it before serving!!
