It is very common to see sweet potato in our home, and making recipe with it is also very simple. Here is an amazing homemade dish called Chilakada Dumpa Pulusu. It can be prepared in very short time that is you can cook within half an hour. When Chilaka da Dumpa is added with coriander, tamarind and jaggery then it will give unique flavor and everyone will like to taste it. Prepare it for this lunch!!
Ingredients
· 2 Sweet potatoes
· 12 Shallots
· 2 Tomato
· 2 Green chillis,
· 1/4 tsp of turmeric
· Small lemon size Tamarind
· 1/2 tbsp of Jaggery
· Salt as per taste
· Fresh coriander leaves
· 4 Dry red chilis
· 3/4 tsp of Cumin seeds
· 1 1/2 tsps of Coriander seeds
· 1 tsp of Bengal gram
· 1 1/2 tsp of Split gram dhal
· Pinch of Fenugreek seeds
· 1 tsp of Sesame seeds
· 1 tbsp of Oil
· 1/2 tsp of Mustard seeds
· Pinch of Asafoetida
· 1 sprig of Curry leaves
Directions to Cook
1. Firstly in a bottomed vessel, you need to add sweet potatos, shallot, tomatoes, turmeric powder and green chilies.
2. Add exactly 4 cups of water and make it boil. You need to maintain moderate heat. Kept undisturbed until it half cooked.
3. Now add tamarind extract, along with it add needed salt and jaggery. Again boil it.
4. Reduce your heat until the tamarind extract loses its raw smell. Add some spic powder, combine well and again cook for 7 minutes.
5. Now heat some oil for tempering in another pan, add some mustard seed, let it splutter. Add urad dhal, cumin seed, red chillis, fenugreek, hing and fry it for 15 to 20 seconds.
6. Finally add some curry leaves and add the vegetable mixture. Simmer your stove for two minutes. Garnish with cilantro leaves and serve it with boiled rice.
