Ingredients required
· Potatoes - 500 gm
· Onions - 100 gm
· Green chillies - 5 gm
· Asafoetida – ½ tsp
· Tomatoes - 100 gm
· Turmeric – 1 tbsp
· Chilli powder – 2 tbsp
· Oil (for sauté)
· Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
· Skinned black gram – ½ tsp
· Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
· Coriander leaves
· Curry leaves
· Salt as per your taste
· Water (little amount)
· Roasted cashew nuts (for garnishing)
Preparation methods
1. Initially you need to boil the potatoes with some salt, then peel its skin and mask it coarsely.
2. Meantime slice the onion, tomatoes, coriander leaves finely. Also slit the green chillies.
3. Now heat the oil and mustard seeds when the oil gets heated.
4. After the mustard seeds gets cracked then add the skinned black gram.
5. Fry until black gram turns golden color then add onion and green chilies. Sauté it until the onion changes its color.
6. Add the curry leaves and asafetida and again stir for 2 minutes and then add tomatoes.
7. Then mix mashed potatoes and other reaming ingredients, cook for 10 minutes.
8. Finally cashew and server it hot.
Note:
If you need then you can also fry the cashews in ghee then add it in the dish. It will give some additional flavor.
