Diwali is very happiest occasion in which we can enjoy with family members and with our friends. In order to make more special you can prepare something special for your loved ones for this Diwali. The apple gujiya is a unique recipe that everyone likes. It is very easy preparing recipe and you need not strain more for preparing it. Though it needs more ingredient the steps for preparation is very simple. Let’s start join me with preparation.
Ingredient required
(i)For preparing dough
· White flour- 2 cups
· Melted ghee - ⅓ cup
· Cold water - ⅓ cup
· Salt, small amount
(ii) Apple-khoya fillings
· Crumbled khoya -1 cup
· Medium sized apples - 3-4 (peeled and chopped)
· Cinnamon powder -½ tsp
· Cardamom powder - ½ tsp
· Chopped nuts - 2-3 tbsp (almonds, cashew and pistachios)
· Sugar - 2-3 tbsp
· Oil - deep frying
Preparation method
Preparing dough
1. In a bowl add flour, salt, melted ghee and rub it. You can see bread crumbs in it.
2. Then add cold water and make it in the form of smooth dough. Keep it undisturbed for 30 minutes.
Sweet stuffing
1. Heat pan add sugar along with apples, slow down your flame for 10 to 12 minutes.
2. Add spice powder and mix it well. After 4 minutes add khoya and stir the mixture continuously.
3. When the Khoya starts melting then add dried fruits and nuts; blend it well.
4. When khoya completely melts then, switch off flame and keep it aside.
Preparing Gujiya
1. Take the dough which you have prepared and make it in the form of small balls.
2. Roll the balls and make it flattened, inside that add apple fillings on one side.
3. Cover it and press on their edges. Do it same for other Gujiyas.
4. Now heat the oil and fry these Gujiyas deeply into it.
5. Remove excels oil and serve it warm.
