Apart from dried sweets we will also like to have some sweet kheers during special occasions. Ya of course, for this Diwali I am going to present one Punjabi Phirni recipe. It is very easy dish and you can store it for two three days in refrigerator. It requires one less number of ingredients and its preparation methods is also simple and you can graps immediately and execute it in fine manner.
Ingredients required
· Basmati rice - ¼ cup
· Organic milk - 1 litre
· Sugar - ¾ to 1 cup
· Almonds - 10-20 (badam)
· Pistachios - 15-20
· Cardamoms - 6-7
· Kesar (saffron) - 12-15
Preparation direction
1. Wash the rice and dry it for some time. After it gets dried then grind it coarsely (it should resemble rava).
2. Again you need to soak the grinded rice for about 30 minutes.
3. On the other hand heat the milk in heavy bottomed pan, when it gets warmed then add saffron and keep it aside.
4. When the milk reaches boiling state add the soaked grounded rice. And also add the sugar into it. Do not cover it with the pan because often you need stir it.
5. You should not get lumps in the kheer. Then add cardamom powders in to it.
6. If you need, you can also add more sugar for more sweetness.
7. Switch off the flame and garnish it with pistachios and almonds.
8. After garnishing it then keep it in refrigerator and serve it in cool manner.
Note:
If you need you can also cook almonds and pistachios and then use it in the dish.
If you want to add rose water for fragrance then add it just end of cooking.
