Halwa is one of the well recipes of India which is very sweet and everyone likes it. In recent days we can see halwas in many types even vegetables are also used for preparing halwa. Here I am going to show halwa prepared from dhal. Sweet will play a major role during Diwali season that too halwa will give added happiness. Prepare moong dhal halwa is very simple even new comer to kitchen can also prepare it in short time.
Ingredients used
· Yellow Moong dal - 1/2 cup (washed)
· Butter - 1/2 cup (ghee)
· Sugar - 1/4 cup
· Cardamom powder - 1/8 tsp
· A pinch of saffron
· Water - 2 cups
· Almonds - 1 tbsp (sliced)
Preparation steps
1. Initially you need to wash the dhal and soak it in three cups of water for four hours at least.
2. Then drain water and make it into a thick paste by adding enough water.
3. On the other hand you need to heat water and sugar in a heavy bottomed pan and prepare sugar syrup.
4. Add cardamom and saffron powder in it and keep it aside.
5. In a pan add some butter and moong dhal paste and fry it in medium heat. While cooking you need to press the dhal paste and repeat it continuously until the color changes.
6. Once you experience the aroma then add prepared sugar syrup into it and cook for about 3 minutes.
7. When it become semi dried position then add almonds and garnish it.
8. Now halwa is ready to serve it!!
